They grant control over the very fabric of the world so that it can be shaped and molded by the ebb and flow of divine power.

The world is in the midst of a delicate balancing act; good, neutral, and evil followers of the gods constantly vie for greater portions of control. Followers of good fearlessly combat those of the dark gods, while those of the evil gods continually subvert the plans of their enemies. Those in the middle, following the path of neutrality, are in constant shift as they try to maintain the precarious balance of the world.
By following a deity and swearing fealty to them, an individual may be granted divine power - a power that can be used to change the world.
